It was a long evening that got ever more intense as it progressed. I was singular in my attired and in my demeanor and a newcomer to this intimate group of friends. I felt obligated to do my best to set a standard and become known. It is also nice to make new and honest friends that I hope to see again. We were six hours on the mountain during a snow storm that only briefly gave reprieve during the first weekend in March of 2022. It was cold and windy and even before the sun set, forbidding us its warming glow, the winds of the central Idahoan mountains chilled us all to the bones. Despite our discomfort, for that is all that is was, we pressed on and did our work, and for it we shall be greatly rewarded. Or perhaps less rewarded; it does not matter for we have enjoyed ourselves and each others' company and made new friends and memories. For that, at the very least, I am grateful.
